A foundation to support community rugby in Wales.
We are building the protected community layer of Welsh rugby: club hubs, transparent funding, volunteer support, women and girls, skills, safeguarding and a place for clubs and supporters to organise together.
Foundation. ClubHub. Evidence within reach.
Help shape the work
What do you want from Welsh rugby?
YSA is gathering data on what people, clubs and supporters want from Welsh rugby and the WRU: funding, volunteers, facilities, women and girls, pathways, governance and club services.
I want to join the discussion
ClubHub is where people read, reply, start topics, answer surveys and help the Foundation understand community priorities.
I represent a club
Start with practical support: grants, finance, services, volunteers, safeguarding and club hub development.
I want to see the evidence
WRU Info keeps the record, source documents and open questions close, but in the background.
Why YSA exists
Community rugby is not a residual cost. It is the base of the game.
Money, grants and public energy intended for the community game should be protected, measured and reported clearly. YSA treats clubs as local infrastructure for play, volunteering, skills, inclusion and public trust.
Foundation model
Protect the base. Grow the game. Renew Welsh rugby.
The foundation story is practical: protect money intended for the community game, build local club infrastructure and support the people who keep rugby alive.
Protect community rugby funding
Restricted community funds, grant reporting and explicit protection from elite overspend.
Build club hubs
Clubs treated as local infrastructure for facilities, skills, volunteers and women and girls rugby.
Support the people of the game
Practical support for volunteers, safeguarding, skills, governance and funding.
How the Foundation listens
The forum is part of the operating system.
As ClubHub opens, this area should show discussion rooms, pulse questions, “what we heard” summaries, club support requests and evidence links where needed.
Latest topic
Recent discussion on protecting community funding.
What we heard
A regular summary of the themes, concerns, proposals and support requests coming through ClubHub.
Requests and pilots
Grants, finance, safeguarding, volunteers, facilities and services for clubs that want to prepare.
This week’s pulse
Short questions to capture community priorities, not to pretend to be a scientific vote.
WRU Info
The background library: accessible, but no longer the main story.
WRU Info keeps the documents, timelines, finance questions, governance record and open issues close at hand as the evidence library behind the Foundation.
Consultation documents
What was asked, what was answered, and what remains undisclosed.
Financial questions
Model assumptions, debt and refinance, and the community funding floor.
Pathway claims
Player access, the club-school-SRC bridge, and women and girls participation.
Claims vs evidence
Claims labelled supported, contested, unclear or needing disclosure.
Next step
Build the Foundation through the work, not through slogans.
Join ClubHub, register club interest, or use the pulse survey to help the Foundation prioritise the next work.
